New Opportunities, New Growth, New Lessons - A Conversation with Dave Peck
Dave Peck recently joined us as our VP of Sales! Below is a bit of his background in his own words. He’ll continue to contribute his thoughts and experiences, so keep an eye out for more to come.
Originally from Pennsylvania, I moved to Boston in 2001 and kick-off my career in tech. I managed to network my way into an entry level position at the UK-based company, Sophos. At that time, they were just beginning to break into the US market and take on massive, established competitors like Symantec and McAfee. Over the next 11 years the company grew from a mere 20 employees in the US to over 1,000. Sophos is now 3,000+ employees and publicly traded. This experience lit a fire in me to be part growing tech companies. I later moved to Rapid7 (IPO), CloudLock (acquired by Cisco), and most recently Barkly (acquired by Alert Logic). All had similar themes: started out small, had big growth goals, operated in highly competitive markets, and were driven by smart, talented people.
I must say that I’m thrilled to be continuing that theme by joining Indy Res. We have an incredible team of creative problem solvers and are in a great position to grow aggressively in the coming months and years. Not only will I be able to apply the lessons learned over 18 years of building sales teams and growing tech companies to another promising tech company, but to be able to be doing so in my hometown of Lancaster, PA. Though, I look forward to the many experiences I’ll have collaborating with our customers and to lessons I’ll learn through working with the team at Indy Res, I want it to be known that one of the most important driver behind my family’s move back to the area was to ensure that my four children are raised properly, as Philly sports fans!
