The challenge
OPEN Lancaster is a long-term project to drive government service forward to engage with all residents of Lancaster City. It aims to make city government more accessible and efficient through digital tools like the OPEN Lancaster App. The Challenge is getting residents to start trusting that the city will in fact come through and deliver on it's promises. The OPEN Lancaster App is one step toward creating a two way communications channel for residents to have their concerns heard.
The resolution
As a long term project this app is currently in Alpha testing phase. City stakeholders have an early release of the app and are testing and refining the features that are going to be available at first launch. This initial version will have the ability for users to be notified of specific events based on locations they select in the app. The hope is to incorporate as much user feedback as possible into the first version of the app as possible.
